C.E.R.T.S.,  Inc.  Adult Action Center is a MOVE for Adults Model site.
MOVE for Adults is an activity-based program.  It is designed to  teach individuals with motor deficits mobility skills in order for them to reach their highest level of independence. After a MOVE for Adults assessment, basic functional motor skills needed for adult life within the home and community environments are practiced using an ecological approach. The skills of sitting, standing and walking are taught and practiced within the activities and naturally occuring events throughout the day. It combines natural body mechanics and support equipment with an instructional process and is designed to help the individuals acquire increasing amounts of motoric independence.  A large variety of recreational, vocational, and community activities are offered daily to provide the motivation for each individual to freely choose his or her desired schedule. Some of these activities include sports, music, dancing, physical fitness, cooking, art, gardening, photography, beauty salon, community outreach just to name a few.
You are welcome to visit our unique, ground-breaking program to see MOVE for Adults in action.
